Jane Masur completed a Master’s Degree in Flute performance at SDSU in 1978 and continued her pursuit of musical excellence studying with Sebastian Carratelli and Claude Monteux with whom she worked collaboratively until his death in 2012.
Ms. Masur has served on the faculty of Palomar College since 1976. She is currently Principal flute for the Poway Symphony Orchestra. In July of 2016 she had the honor of touring China, performing with the Poway Symphonette.
Ms. Masur has a well developed flute pedagogy and chooses appropriate paths for students of all ages. She has a very active and successful music studio through which she provides guidance, rigorous preparation and coaching for auditions and performance for advanced students entering universities, institutes and conservatories. Former students are currently holding principal positions in major orchestras. She is currently serving on the Board of Directors for MTAC.
