Palomar Jazz!
Courtin’ the Count: A Tribute to Count Basie

Basie, born William James Basie, is one of the greatest bandleaders of all time. Fusing blues and jazz, he changed the sound of jazz in the 1930’s and made himself the arbiter of the big-band swing sound. Count Basie helped change the path of American music and this Friday night you can come to the Howard Brubeck Theatre to hear our own Palomar Jazz! play a tribute to the “King of Swing”! Join us and sign on to earth shakin’, hard blowin’, swingin’ jazz at its Big Band best!

Featured guest soloist will be Dr. Richard Thompson, a brilliant jazz pianist and SDSU Music Professor!

Directed by Paul Kurokawa
