Frank Glasson, a Solana Beach native, has performed in the trumpet sections of San Diego Chamber Orchestra, San Diego Opera, Middel Deutsche Rundfunk Orchestra of Germany, Opera Nomori of Japan, Cape Town Symphony, State Theater and National Chamber Orchestras of South Africa and has appeared as soloist with the latter two. An accomplished jazz performer, Frank received a Grammy nomination for “Best Jazz Instrumental Solo” for improvised solos on “Jazztet”. A Yamaha performing artist, Frank currently performs with San Diego Symphony Orchestra and Pacific Symphony of Orange County. He maintains a teaching studio and has served as conductor Jazz Band Director at Palomar College, adjunct Trumpet Professor at SDSU and as the CYO Wind Ensemble conductor. Frank currently directs the bands for the Solana Beach School District and Mainly Mozart Youth Orchestra Winds and Brass. For 8 years Frank served as President of the American Federation of Musicians, Local 325.
